ABOUT MEETUP

Go is an open source programming language that makes it easy to build simple, reliable, and efficient software.

Designed by Google, Go is a general purpose programming language with modern features, clean syntax and a robust well-documented common library, making it an ideal language to learn as your first programming language. Go is recognizably in the tradition of C, but makes many changes to improve brevity, simplicity, and safety.

Some of the features of Go includes:

  • Concise variable declaration.
  • Fast compilation times.
  • It is a statically typed, compiled language that feels like a dynamically typed, interpreted language
  • Efficient concurrency mechanisms
  • Run-time reflection
  • Remote package management
  • Built-in concurrency primitives
  • Light-weight processes (goroutines)
  • Tool chain that produces statically linked native binaries without external dependencies

In this meetup we will be covering below points :

  • Introduction to the Go language
  • Places to learn
  • Golang community
  • Dev tools
  • Use Cases
  • Concurrency model
  • Design Patterns

*Note: Please bring your personal laptops as this will be a bit of practical session where you can try hands-on during meetup.
